Joseph Wu is an origami master and paperfolding artist, creating unique and complex art pieces & commercial work professionally for over 40 years. The logo simplifies the basic premise of the Japanese art of origami, where dimensional forms are traditionally folded from a single square sheet of paper. The folded flap at the bottom has a three-fold purpose: to reveal the duality of the sheet (origami paper often has two color sides), to draw out a subtle W shape, and to complete the artist's beard. A winking version on the back of his business card provides a playful visual, hinting that traditional expectations are about to be challenged in a remarkable way.
